President Obama is attempting to quickly change the topic of news reports and thus voters by opening up Off Shore drilling. His game plan is simple. Change the topic, offer Republicans something that they want, and then say, "Look, I am bipartisan". You have to support the Presidents effort to open offshore drilling although I suspect it is more of a political ploy and nothing much will actually happen. Will he raise taxes on those who choose to drill off shore? Probably.
Cap and tax is also around the corner, which means that energy prices are going up. I suspect this his Obama's way of saying he tried to keep energy prices down despite taxing the hell out of it.
